SONIC SIGIL ENVIRONMENTS

These sonic objects were constructed during the pandemic from 2020-2021 as a dialogue between the body and its new orientation with virtual space and technology, death, chaos and COVID-19. Combining biomaterial with metals, found objects and coded microcontrollers, which translate musical frequencies through software, these environments produce sound when I place myself within the electrical current, effectively closing the loop, by contacting the object’s conductive components (copper, conductive paint). These objects were used as intimate “stages” in virtual rituals, adapting sound “theatricals” for pandemic era live-streaming formats.
